Reuters is just reporting that there are 649 million internet users in China, with a 86 percent of them (557 million) using phones to go online. That’s a staggering number.
I wonder how China can possibly cope with all that monitoring? Of course they have the Great Information Wall but they still want to know who says what to who.
Malthus comes to mind, but now it’s communications not food. And then there’s Marshal McLuhan – if the medium is the message then we need to wake up.
